TS network service on Windows
wailing
Does anybody know which of the network services may be started up manually instead of automatically in the Win2K Services?
I'm running a devt copy of TS on my laptop and it c-r-a-w-l-s each time I boot up.

Rika

Actually. You can set them all to manual and only start them when needed. The one thing to watch out for however is I would caution against starting and stopping the Interwoven TeamSite service without a reboot in between. NT/W2K is known to keep open file handles around which may cause sharing violations that the server will have trouble dealing with (might not be able to write to some files in the backing store when needed).
The other thing to watch out for is the order that the services should be started. Its always a good idea to start the Interwoven TeamSite service first, give it some time to start up and then start things like grc followed by the gui components next.
The gui components have dependencies on each other (most notable being servletd's dependence on openapi). This has changed a bit in TS 5.5.x since openapi there now runs as part of the servletd service.

Thanks, nacks. Haven't been online lately.
Would you then say the best strategy is to leave only the Interwoven TeamSite service boot up automatically while setting the rest to manual?
