WorkflowBuilder Download?
MichaelS
Hi,
I was trying to download the WorkflowBuilder server from Interwoven support site but it does not seem to be there. Does anyone know where to find it?

It's up under the 5.5.x downloads here:
https://support.interwoven.com/esd2/UI_ESDSelProduct.asp?PCatID=35&CatName=TeamSite
. There was also a post about a patch for 6.x. I know there are patches for 5.5.x too, so be sure you check that too.

If you can't find WorkflowBuilder, first thing you need to do is find a good proctologist.

WFB is hanging out gathering dust with all of my 6 year-old's Basic books.

Well, I was referring to a certain deep orifice, but not a

I don't even have it hanging out anywhere.
Its good to keep the threads alive but lets not scare the newbis away. WFB is still a good way to start building a skeleton for somebody who has not wft experience.
A glass half full or half empty. Depends which way you think about it.

Guess I'm a half-empty person.
WFB provides a very false sense of security. If you really want to learn how to do workflow, find someone who already knows and pick their brain, or take the training. Otherwise you're doomed.

I'm not sure I entirely agree with this statement (or at least what it implies). I have 4 years of workflow building experience and still use WFB to skeleton my workflows. It saves a lot of typing. I don't go much further than a skeleton though, just to make sure that the successors and predecessors all line up. I agree that the way WFB was marketted, it could never ever even come close to living up to it. "Now your business users can create their own workflows." Every time I think of that phrase it makes me chuckle. Also, WFB provides a decent interface to be able to diagram your WFT for documentation and visual reference (though I normally prefer to use Visio for this).
So, I don't think WFB is completely worthless, but I definately think that it has serious limitations.
