Details: Error unmarshaling return header; nested

I am doing file list deployment through workflow. Some time I am getting this error. After this error OD server is stoping. I need to restart the OD server after this error. When I do same deployment again , I am not getting this error. This error is coming rarely.
O/s: Sun 8.
TS 5.0.2 SP1
OD 5.0.1 SP2

The error is

The OD dying is a problem you should take up with Interwoven Support.
The issue leading to OD dying is that you are mostly likely running iwodstart (or iwodcmd start) without using a [unique] -inst flag parameter - and thus you have to wait for one workflow's invokation of the deployment to finish before another workflow's invokation can begin (RTFM the OD manuals regarding '-inst')

My mistake - I saw the "need to wait for deployment to complete message" and was thinking that was due to not having the '-inst' flag in place, but it turns out it prints that out all the time - there must be a different message when you try to run the same deployment before the first one finished.

Are you sure the Solaris system was fully patched with all the Solaris and Java patches?

Have you opened a case with Support? (if not, I'd strongly recommend it)

Teamsite Support doesn't support 5.0.1. (Last day was sep 30th). I find out the Solaris Admin, he said that java pathces are upto date.

Whoops - I missed the 5.0.1 piece. Well, although I'm sure you've already heard this ... you should probably upgrade. OD5.0.1 was never a great release. 5.5.1 was a MUCH better release and 5.6 and 6.0 generally continue to improve.

Our client is looking upgrade OD with Teamsite 6.x. And also we are moving Teamsite from Solaris to Linux. So we are waiting for Enterprise Edition of TS on Linux. So there is no upgradation near future Smiley Sad

I think it would be better to upgrade to 5.5.2 for now with OD5.6. Probably you can upgrage to 6.x whenever the linux version comes out.

You can upgrade OD without upgrading TS - it's much less painful - and in this case well worth it (IMO).
Your OD config files could remain completely unchanged (5.5.1 actually fixes a number of bugs in 5.0x - but if your config files work in 5.0x I'm pretty sure [99%] that they'll work as-is under 5.5.1).

I told same to my client, but they(client) want to don't want upgrade on Solaris. They want do upgradation on Linux box.
