helloworld
I have loggin as a master and in the professional view. If I delete the file in the staging area, it do nothing. Any one can tell me, why can't I delete the file in staging area? It is configuration problem?

I dunno who gave you master priviliges
.....Did you attend any training on TeamSite?
why I am asking is that your question is a fundamental one and is covered during initial training.
The gist is that one cannot delete anything in staging directly. The deletion will take effect only if you delete a file in a workarea and then submit the deletion.

I have been assigned the teamsite four kinds different account for testing purpose.
Sorry, what is the "gist"?
gzevin

No.
Edition area means snapshot of the area, right?
I don't know how to create.

Somehow I got credited for being right in this thread without having yet contributed - so I'll defer the accolades on Greg.
Greg is right - seagate NEEDS TRAINING and/or NEEDS TO READ THE MANUALS (RTFM in short).
With the apparent lack of knowledge currently held, seagate has no business being able to login with anything other than 'Author' access - and even *that* should be prefaced by some training.

To me (and R_J) it appeared you were trying your best Ghoti impersonation. And a mighty
fine one at that. Now all you need to do is critique someone's perl
gzevin
well, because my perl is *bad*, I humbly listen to Ghoti's critique... and I do not dare to impersonate the mighty Fish in this capacity...

Thanks for your suggestion.
There are some training provide for me later by my corporation.
Indeed, I feel that it is difficult to find reference book in the market about teamsite. I am right?
gzevin
There is one book, written by former Interwoven employee:
Web Content Management: A Collaborative Approach
by Russell Nakano
it does not have any references to TeamSite, but it definitely based on it. It gives some ideas about how to manage TeamSite branching, etc, etc
It's available on Amazon.

Seagate:
You should schedule training, but in the meantime, I would recommend getting a copy of the manuals that are available for download from the support site. You can contact support about getting an account.
Thanks,
Heather

Heather,
I am not trying to be a pain - but you gave replied to my message, so I got the e-mail notification. If I were you, to target a particular poster, I'd reply to that person's message
