Editing a second DCR from a DCT

In a template, users have a field to allow them to optionally include other files. These files will often be created by another template.
They would like to have the option within the 1st template to bring up a screen to edit the second template.
On a high-level it seems simple:
1) add 'edit page' callout button
2) FormApi reads the path of file selected and opens window with second page. TS sees its a template and opens up new templating window.
3) User makes edits and saves component template, closes it and then goes back to main page.

However, this approach makes me feel uneasy. Are there any major issues that could pop up doing this? (on TS 6.5 Solaris)

I wouldn't think so, I've done it before. I believe it was in 4.5 or 5.0, but the theory is still the same. There is really no link between the two DCRs, other than the text file path in the parent DCR. I can't see how this would cause any issues.
