Unable to parse DCR

Hi,

Through a PERL script, we are creating a DCR and also properly setting the extended attributes. When we open the newly created DCR in IE, the xml doc is coming up fine, but when we try to open the DCR from TeamSite env we are getting the following error...

Root cause:
Couldn't parse DCR bytes into DOM [unable_to_parse_dcr ]:Invalid byte 1 of 1-byte UTF-8 sequence.

Details... com.interwoven.ui.formspub.datacapture.EditDCRPredicate$ReadDCRException: Couldn't parse DCR bytes into DOM [unable_to_parse_dcr ]:Invalid byte 1 of 1-byte UTF-8 sequence.

Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

Can you post your datacapture.cfg and the DCR you are generating from the perl script?
I suspect there could be a mismatch between the two.

Make sure that:
1. you do not have Byte Order Mark (BOM) characters at the beginning of your DCR.
2. XML entities in "value's" are properly encoded/escaped
3. Item Values are UTF-8 encoded

If you generate DOCTYPE IE won't be able to show xml, not unless you made dtd available.
