What is a Solaris Zone ? Is it a virtual machine like VMWare ? I have installed TS on a Solaris VM before, though never multiple TS on a single VM.Andy
It looks like I'm the only one but I would be very interested in running multiple instances on the same machine, preferably different versions of TS.Cheers, Ronald
It is an OS-level virtualization that lets you create multiple slices of the OS. It is much lighter weight than something like vmware or even logical domains.
Can you load different device drivers on each Zone ?
In 5.5.2 I installed TS on a mulit-domain box (I doubt it was a Zone back then, but maybe). It was on the virtual slice and there were a bunch of other apps on other slices. I had some trouble getting Tagger to work (communicating to TS) but that was it.However I did not have 2 TS instances on that, so I do not know if the driver was visible to each.
On an unrelated topic, my new hardware just arrived for our 6.7.1 upgrade http://www.sun.com/servers/midrange/m5000/
Hi,Im actually interested in the TS running in a Solaris VM, i know is not supported but does it work well??Bruno
