Windows Vista - Unable to download files

I recently upgraded to Windows Vista and unable to edit files in TeamSite 6.5 with JRE 1.6. When attempting to download the file, the download alert never goes away and stays @ 0% downloaded. Have the same issue on IE7 and Firefox 2.

TeamSite, to the best of my knowledge, has not been officially QA'd with Vista - and most likely the problem will stem from the JRE - see if you can download and use an older version of the Sun JRE/JVM.

The same issues (not-QA'd) apply to IE7 and FF2 - though I believe there have been some threads on how to fix things to work in IE7 - at least with regard to VFE.

Vista, like the one released yesterday ? Nothing like being on the bleeding edge. I would be surprised if IW has even loaded a system with it to test.

Thanks for the quick response. I tried installing JRE 1.4_2 and 1.5 and still have the same issue. It works fine on windows XP with all the above JRE's. I am thiking its most probably security issue.

Hi,

Interwoven has not yet done certification against Windows Vista. Most of our users aren't eager to hop on new platforms when they are released, but we are very interested in tracking who is interested in moving to Vista so that we can plan certification for upcoming releases. If you are actively planning to use Vista, please contact Interwoven Support and have yourself added to this feature request: 69475. Currently, Vista support will likely not be added until after TeamSite 6.7.1 SP1, or TeamSite 6.5. SP3.

While we wait for Interwoven to release a Vista-certified version of TeamSite, I'm curious to know if anyone has found a solution to this problem of being unable to download files.

I get a message saying "the system cannot find the path specified" on the local C drive.

Considering that Vista is quickly going the way of Microsoft ME, I know I am not eager to hop on the new MS platform. I have played with it enough to know that if I need my computer to work, I will need to wait until it is fixed.

Good luck getting a computer without it.

I was supposed to buy the short set a new computer, went to Fry's the day Vista was released and that is all you could get.

Dell relents, offers Windows XP as consumer option
Hopefully other Vendors' geniuses will follow...

I'm incidentally in the market for a PC.
I am debating between Ubuntu and XP (no way will I get Vista) - it's for mostly home/home office use. I'm planning on VMWare for ubuntu for server-type (fileserver/ftp, etc). Anyone else here taken this path?

Not sure why there is a debate. I have been running Ubuntu (actually Edubuntu) exclusively @ home for about a year now, and am very pleased.

Love VMware, never used Ubuntu. However I did help Ghoti get VMWare (2K image) running on his toy Apple at GearUp.

I am debating between XP and Ubuntu because of drivers.
More specifically I spent a couple of hundred on a Lexmark printer only to realize Lexmark does not provide drivers for linux. ** never buy a Lexmark **

We bought a new dell with vista preinstalled to do some testing. First time we turned it on--straight out of the box--we got the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!

I seem to have gotten it to work correctly by doing the following:
* Enable proper security permission on the local TeamSite temp directory.
* Register TeamSite servers as trusted sites in IE7
* Enable popups from IE7 Internet Options.

I'm not positive this is the solution as I don't personally run vista, but I did this for one of my users and it has been thus far successful in allowing edits and downloads from Vista.
