weird thing with VFE

Check out the attached image. I've never encountered this before. The HTML code in a VFE field is spilling over the field. What could be causing this?

non-XHTML compliant code can, I believe, cause this - try making the noted changes:

and see if the problem persists (you should probably configure VFE to use XHTML - as per the manual)

I initially had publish="cleanhtml" in my VFE config.
I found that manually closing the img tag, then saving and reopening the DCR makes the problem go away. But after I look at the code, the img tag reverts to the non closed version but the HTML doesn't spill over in this case. So the code that caused the problem before is no longer causing problems!?!

Then, I changed the publish="xhtml" in my VFE config.
The HTML is spilling over but the code is XHTML compliant. Every tag is closed properly. Another bad thing is that the html code in the editor is supposed to be just a fragment meant to be placed inside a template but having publish=xhtml, makes VFE add extra tags to make that fragment xhmtl compliant. For example, if I just have {td}abc{/td} in that field, VFE will add table tags around it.

The other option is publish="minimal".
This option is totally messed up. If I have a closed img tag, it will get rid of the ending slash producing non compliant HTML code. The HTML is still spilling over. The only plus side of this option is that it doesn't add extra table tags around my td tags.

I've attached my VFE config file. Can someone see any other options I can try?
