Cancel Visual format inside a VF enabled DCT.

hi,

I have a requirement with Visual format.
In the DCT, we have textarea enabled with Visual format,
So when the user enables the VF, VF activeX is called and users are able to enter the contents.

But is it possible to customize VF so that the users can cancel the enabled VF and continue type in the text inside the text area,

in short, can we go back to the previous state after the visual formatt is enabled inside a textarea?

Don't think this is possible, but what i suggest is why not give user the option (radio button or somthing), if you want VF enabled keep this textarea as is or hide this VF textarea and un hide a hidden textarea which is without VF.

Yes, It is possible.
In the 'Textarea' element use this :-
external-editor-inline="f" (Default is 't')

So, the textarea appears without 'vf' embedded inline. It can still be used because it is enabled and gives the user option to use or not to use vf. Hope this resolves your problem.

so my question was, once the user enables the VF and after entering contents, he might think he do not want this.

In this scenario, can he remove/disable the VF and continue with text area?

Guess you have the dumbest user req. Anyways, please try what I suggested in first place and scenario will be clearer to you.

In this case (external-editor-inline="f"), an edit button appears besides the text area. On clicking, that a new window opens with 'Vf' editor and two button on this screen - 'Save' and 'Cancel'.
If now, your content author changes his mind after entering all the html content, that he just wants plain text; he can chose to 'Cancel' else save.

But, he will have to enter the same content in text area after he cancels. TS will not automatically save the text content there.
