Error message when trying to open folders from To Do list
Has anybody seen this error before (V9, SR2, Hotfix 2.1) when trying to open folders from a To Do List
Exception 'Type 'Metastorm.Engine.Common.FolderAction' with data contract name 'FolderAction:Metastorm.Engine.Common' is not expected. Add any types not known statically to the list of known types - for example, by using the KnownTypeAttribute attribute or by adding them to the list of known types passed to DataContractSerializer.' occurred when attempting to 'Open folder'.

Yes, I got it after an upgrade went wrong. The helpdesk told me to reinstall every single version and hotfix in the right order (at the time I had installed SR2 without going through SR1 and its hotfix first).

We've simply restored the db from one server to another. Both servers are running the same version of Metastorm and the same sql collation. One environment works but the new one we're restoring the db to, doesn't. We should be able to do a DB restore without having to re-install all the Metastorm components!

Carolyn - when you re-installed the components in the correct order, did this resolve the problem?

We have just set up a new system and went straight to SR2 with no problems.

A re-install did fix the problem, yes.

Hi,
It should not be necessary to install all updates as they are all culumative (as the minor version, maintenance release or hotfix). For example if you want to get to v9.0.3.5 you simply install v9.0, then SR3 (to get to 9.0.3) and then hotfix 5 (to get to 9.0.3.5).
