Date time fields in grids ignore any settings?

In my To Do list, the format is what I have specified in my regional settings: "09-12-2010 22:26"

In a grid, it is completely different: "20/07/2010 3:50:26 PM"

What goes on? How is this set, if it can be set at all?

As for the browser settings admin form, it makes no difference. I would much prefer it up to use the system settings anyway. At the very least using some global default may work, but for many of our customers, they need several different configurations, and the regional settings really should be used IMO.

  • OK, it seems the Browser Settings form did the job, but it only changed after a few hours, which is very strange indeed. I ammed it was immediate. My questions are therefore:

    1. Why is this not immediate?

    1. Why were the grids in forms not formatted as per system settings, while the alert lists were?

    1. How can we get it to use the system settings?

    1. How can the default be set on the web server as we did in version 6 & 7 (because the browser settings form is not a good idea to let lose on typical users).

On a BIG plus not, you are now able to set the thousand delimiter to nothing, so removing that annoying comma in ordinary number fields. Having said that, it would be nice to have it in a currency field only.

  • Are you using IE8?, I have come across some interesting caching behaviour with this browser.

  • Yes I am. It could be that.
