Knowledge Exchange Notebook level "Access Rules" tab is missing after 6.2.4 Upgrade

In setting up our KE server (we are a new Provision customer), I had been testing Access Rules at both the repository and notebook level on KE 6.2.3. They worked in accordance with the "Knowledge Exchange Administrator Guide (6.2.3)" that I am using.

Yesterday, we finally were able to upgrade to KE 6.2.4.

This morning when I picked up my testing of access rules in anticipation of creating groups and levels and rights, I found that the "Access Rules" tab at the notebook level is unavailable.

My Tech admin who did the upgrade said that there is nothing in the documentation that indicates a removal of this tab. The "Access Rules" tab is available at the repository level.

Has anyone seen this? What do we do to fix this?

Thx,

Stephen I

  • Hi Stephen,

This is an issue that has been addressed in KE v6.2.4 hotfix 1.  I would advise applying the latest maintenance and going to KE v6.2.4 hotfix 2.  If you create a case in our ticketing system (you can ask for Matt), I will send you a link where you can download KE v6.2.4 hotfix 2.

    Thanks,

    Matt Michael

  • Hi Matt,

        Thanks for the info.

We actually went the route you specified last week - I submitted a case, I was promptly told that this was a known bug that was addressed in the HF.

My tech admin did finally manage to get the patch installed and the notebook level 'Access Rules' tab is now available.

Nothing in the 6.2.4 install notes indicated a potential bug like this.

    Thanks,

    Stephen

  • Hi Stephen,

At the time of the release it was not a known issue.

    Regards,

    Matt

  • Matt,

We just installed KE 6.2.4 the week before.

I'm thinking that the upgrade should have been replaced by the HF upgrade, or, that a message would have gone out indicating that the upgrade should be immediately followed by the patch.  I don't believe that Metastorm's intent was to hide the bug or the patch.

    Thanks,

    Stephen

  • Hi Stephen,

I understand your frustration.  I am forwarding your feedback, and hopefully going forward we can make hotfixes more visible to all customers.

    Thank you,

    Matt Michael

  • Hi Stephen,

We definitely understand what you are saying regarding a common place to retrieve hot-fixes.  The MIM and BPM suites have always published the hot-fixes.  We are in the process of consolidating some of our back-end systems and as a result the ProVision/KE suites will also have all Service Releases/Hot-Fixes published on the support site.

You should expect theses changes to be delivered this year.

    Best Wishes,

    Chuck

  • Matt and Chuck,

Thanks for providing great feedback... I knew that you guys would have a process or will have a process in place...
