PVReport Viewer has stopped working

I have a local notebook that I have openend. Now I wish to activate the View report functionality from MPV. It comes up with the message ' PVReport Viewer has stopped working'

 

I am  using version 6.3.1.

 

Can you please give an idea how to solve the problem

    Are you trying to view a custom report or a standard PV report?  If a custom report you should check your ODBC settings by:

     

    First close ProVision.

    Go to control panel and click on Administrative Tools. Then Data Sources (ODBC).

    Click on your System DSN tab and you should see your pvReport.mdb entry. Click on that and click configure. In the path of the .mdb you need to go to Program Files>Metastorm>PV631>Program>Reports>and point to your pvreport.mdb. Now that it points to the correct pvReport.mdb for that version the report should populate.

     

    You also may want to check your installed programs under the control panel and make sure the Crystal Reports Viewer is installed.  If not you should reinstall ProVision so the Crystal Report Viewer will be installed.

    I have followed your instruction as per e-mail response.  would you suggest

     

    1. I reinstall PV?
    2.  Install crystal report viewer

    Reinstalling ProVision may be the best idea becuase this would ensure that the CR Viewer gets installed, it is one of the first steps in the install process.
