Dimensions and (1)'s
Hello,
I'm seeking input regarding a strange behavior in ProVision (Or KE). This is more or a less an extension to the previous post: /awd/forums/questions/3408312
The Scenario:
A main shared notebook contains a Dimension Type of "Department", created about a month ago with 5 Dimensions. The Organization object "Department" was then created and projections of the 5 Dimensions were created successfuly.
Today, I tried to add a new Department.
From the Dimension Types, double clicked on "Department", and added the new department's name.
Selecting one of the Department objects the Organizations and creating a projection of the new Dimension makes the rest of the already existing Department objects amended with a (1), except the new department object.
Deleting and recreating the new Department objects several times did the same thing for a while. I also created the main "Department" object, with no Dimensions associated to it (as it was instructed in a different communication) and attempted to create a projection of it lead to the same thing.
I removed all the attempts I made and went back to the original 5 dimensions I created in the begining. In a desparate attempt, I recreated the new department as a projection from one of the existing ones. Only this time, from a different object than previously selected. And it worked!
I got confused, so I decided to test it again with the same object I was selecting before. This time, it worked again!
I, again, deleted it and recreated it from another object, and it again worked.
I have no clue what is making it work and what is not. But I hope this could be looked into because it is not making any sense. I will be happy to share, even live, the experiences we are having.
Thanks,
Tamam

Hello,
This issue has been recorded as a defect and will be addressed in a future release. Here's how I recreated the issue:
1) create dimension type 'color'
2) add dimensions red, yellow, and blue
3) create Role object called 'color'
4) create Roles with the dimensions by right clicking on the Role ‘color’ -> Select 'Create Projection' -> select blue and click Ok. Repeat that for 'red' and 'yellow'.
5) Save and then check into KE.
6) Check your notebook back out and then open the notebook again.
7) Add a new dimension 'error' to the dimension type 'color'
8) Next, add a new dimension by right clicking on the Role ‘color’ > SELECT ‘CREATE PROJECTION’ and CREATE color[ERROR]
9) Check it back into KE and check out again.
10) You will note that a (1) has been appended to 'color'The only known workaround for this issue is this:
1) Check out your entire problem notebook as a copy.
2) Double click the original 'color' object that now says 'color(1)'
3) Rename the object back to 'color'.
4) Check the notebook into KE as a New Notebook.
5) Check the notebook back out to verify.Regards,
Matt Michael

Thank you Matt. Looking forward to it.
I would like to add to this too, if you persist on checking back in the same notebook it will work too after some 4-10 times. I'm assuming this would be better for those dealing with a shared notebook as then they wouldn't have to re-share the objects and update the rest of the notebooks that are using any of the shared objects from the challenged notebook.
