What are different ways to preview the content in DCR?

Hi,

We are currently using a common presentation template(say preview.tpl) (for all content types) which inturn invokes a corresponding JSP page of the content type for preview.We are facing some problems with this.

we are trying to explore other option to do the preview.Can any one share the best practices and various options they have come across?.....

Sasi,

In order to preview content in TeamSite you must understand where that content is going displayed on the web site. This will require some sort of mapping and if you are managing a large amount of content then use a mapping file instead of iwproxy.

Using a preview presentation template is a good idea and works well. The important part is ensuring your mapping file is flexible to cope with complex mappings that in include database IDs.

I didn't get your question clearly?

If you mean to understand the different ways of seeing preview then the answer would be there are several ways. You can use preview button, you can generate the page and then see it. You can also use CLTs to see the preview. When and how to see the preview depends on your requirement.
