OTM on Vignette 8

Hi All.

Recently I installed VCM 8 and Object Type Modeller (OTM 7.6).

Installation went all OK for both and I am able to see /Workbench/Object Type Definitions.

Now when I go to edit Channel properties, I am seeing blank Attributes panel.

Please help me in resolving this issue or OTM 7.6 is not fully compatible for VCM 8.

It is not enough to deploy a war, you should also deploy thejar.

Where did you get the otm ? can you see an otm.jar inside thewar ? deploy also that jar with configp

Hi Mario,

I have installed otm.jar file from the configp in my initials step. I followed all the steps provided in the Installation doc, though couldn't get OTM worked from the war deployment method.

Later I re-deploy the otm using ear deployment method and found to be working this time.

Hi Basant,

I recently installed the OTM extention in 7.6 using the ear method you are refering to. After doing this we started getting reports that of a "taglib: null" error that would appear on CTDs that used the "Content Editor - JSP URI" field on the CTD General tab in the extensability area to display a custom CTD look and feel. I was wondering if you have any CTDs that also use this field and if you are getting an error as well? I know we aren't on the same version of VCM but one of the things I'm trying to determine is if upgrading might help eliminate this error.

Wehad OTM installed in V7.6 version and didn't encounter this problem. Soversion shouldn't be a problem.

The error that you report is likely caused by the fact that youhaven’t proper;y replaced everywhere the system jars.

Hi Mario,

I've been looking at that possibility. Problem is that when I did a find to look at the jars I used (thirdparty-combined.jar, vgn-appsvcs-cce.jar, and vgn-appsvcs-cma.jar) they all look like the same version based on the size and date stamp. I even coppied the files from the /opt/vignette/Content/7_6/lib/sdk/ directory and redeployed my custom extention to see if this would resolve the issue. It didn't. If this is not the correct place to get those jars could you tell me where I should go so that I can make sure I have the right ones?

I do know that the CTDs that use "/vgn-wcm-up/cif/defaultcif.jsp" in the Content Editor - JSP URI are not having problems. I'm begining to wonder if the issues are not caused by differances in this version of the deployment vs the version of this file that was used when the custom code was developed. Problem is I tried downloading this code from the OpenText website again and installing the base code in place of the our custome code and the error still appered. Unfortunalty, with 7.6 this code is not deployed in the same manor as it was in our previous version and I'm not sure where this file is being read from so I can start comparing differances to see if there are any.

I can confirmed that we are not having such issue / error after installing OTM.

Even with VCM 7.6, we didnot encountered this issue.
