Prototype JavaScript Framework

We've just had a new web site designed by an external consultancy. The consultancy have used the Prototype JavaScript Framework (prototype.js) to get some effects on the pages - so far so good.

However, when someone previews one of these new pages in TeamSite and turns off the SCE toolbar, the 'close SCE?' pop-up window is forced to open in the preview browser window, if the user then clicks 'yes', the preview opens in the view pane of the TS UI. It's not the end of the world, but it would be nice to get it fixed.

Has anyone used the Prototype JS framework with TeamSite, did you have this problem, and did you find a solution?

Thanks for the swift response, but I don't want to turn SCE off on every page that uses the Prototype framework - it's used on every page on the site.

SCE is javascript - so it is possible that the SCE code and the prototype.js code may not be playing well together. You might be able to debug it with a reasonable javascript debugging interface (e.g.: Firebug) - but even if you figure out what the source of the problem is, chances are it would require changes to the IWOV code which then leads you to unsupported hacks to product code ... If you figure that out in sufficient detail - you should probably open a support case / feature request, but it won't help you in the near-term.

For near-term fix - you'll probably have to just disable the SCE toolbar for all pages that use the prototype.js -- which depending on how prevalent its usage is on your side may mean disabling the SCE toolbar completely.

Do you get any JS errors on the preview page? (Firebug/MS Script Debug should help)
