AFAIK you can neither update Akamai Servers directly nor install your own software (like OD receiver, etc...) there.
Normally, you would modify (Deploy, whatever) your assets on the so called "Source URL" Servers. These are URL(s) that
you (your Company) specify in the Source URL section of the ARL (Akamai Resource Locator). Akamai will pick it up
and re-distribute over their Networks, I *believe* there is some latency in the process.

All that may (or may not) differ if your Company is a Partner (AANP). I never worked for one and therefore not familiar with
the arrangements. If that's the case though you should have Administrators to talk to, go buy them some beer...

If you want to use Akamai NetStorage, there is an ftp adapter for Open Deploy that you can use to push files up to the NetStorage file system, and from there the files can be automatically populated out to "the edge" servers. However, the ftp adapter is very limited and cannot delete files.

It is very limited. We ended up writing our own because we needed secure ftp support, which that adapter does not provide either.
