Installing DBD::mysql on Linux - Iwov Teamsite

ENV :- Linux version 2.6.9-42.ELsmp (gcc version 3.4.6 20060404 (Red Hat 3.4.6-2))

Teamsite :- 6.7.1 Sp1

Hi,

I am trying to connect to a mysql database (installed on another windows server) from a CGI script. I am actually getting following error:-

install_driver(mysql) failed: Can't locate DBD/mysql.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr1/app/interwoven/TeamSite/iw-perl/lib /usr1/app/interwoven/TeamSite/iw-perl/site/lib /usr1/app/interwoven/TeamSite/iw-perl/vendor/lib .) at (eval 1) line 3.

Perhaps the DBD::mysql perl module hasn't been fully installed,

or perhaps the capitalisation of 'mysql' isn't right.

I have installed DBD::mysql driver through CPAN but it seems it got installed on default perl Installation (\usr\perl5\.....) instead of IW-PERL .

Could you please tell me how I can install DBD::mysql module into iw-perl/site/lib.....

Any pointers to this would be highly appreciated!

You can either repeat the entire CPAN procedure - making sure to use IWHOME/iw-perl/bin/cpan -- or, if you kept (or can reproduce) the installation log information from the first pass - you should be able to copy all of the files over to their corresponding directory within IWHOME/iw-perl/site/...

I think the former method is better / cleaner - the latter method might be faster.

Another possibility is to adjust your scripts to contain a use lib ...; line that points to your other Perl installation's @INC path(s) - but I like this least of all because like the second method mentioned in my previous post - they both have the possibility of failing due to incompatibilities between the version of perl that comes with TeamSite and the other version that is on your local disk.

The DBD modules tend to come with a lot of README files - and they also tend to provide a pretty wide-coverage of issues and resolutions.

I suggest you start there - and take your time doing it - because you may have to extract information from multiple README files in order to fix your issues, and/or go through the process multiple times as fixing one issue may uncover another one.

Migrateduser

When you run the Makefile.PL, use the following argument:

iwperl Makefile.PL -r=build32

Make sure that you are using the perl from your iw-home directory.

If you type "which perl", it should tell you which is the default perl it is using.

After creating the Makefile, make sure that it is using the lib32 library if they have the 32 bit version.
