Documentum 7.3: Duplicate Docbase ID

I have a full working Documentum system having Content, Application, Rendition, Index and Database server working with one repository.
Now we have cloned all the VM servers and restore all of them. After restoration, we have changed the IP address of the server and all the configuration of the server and created a new system.

I have following queries related to this:

  1. Can we run both the system with the same docbase ID in same network? If no then why?
  2. Can we run both the system with the same docbase ID in the same network? If no then why?

    You may be able to isolate the docbroker to calling the appropriate docbase using IP address, but the other products may have problems. We did something similar to what you have done (clone PROD to DEV) and we created a different subnet for the cloned environment. We initially tried doing this without creating different network, but ran into issues. Eventually, it was easier to ask network team to create diff segment than to try to resolve the issue.This network segmentation isolates clone from real PROD and we haven't run into any issues.
