Administration tab not working in teamsite 7.1

We are getting "Could not contact Adminstration server. Please try it later, or contact your system administrator" error while clicking administration tab.

This stack trace implies that iwserver is not running or not running correctly. Is content center working?

 

If this is a new install, then something might have gone very wrong and you might want to scrap it and restart.

 

If this just started happening on a working server, restart iwserver, make sure it booted ok (no errors in iwtrace.log), and then restart JBoss. If that still fails to work, check the full server.log for stack traces related to app initialization. You may also want to make sure that the login screen can resolve available domains in a timely manner (set domain_list in iw.cfg if you haven't already).

I think the Admin console is not properly registered in the common services or issues when the commonservices database is queried for the Adminconsole entry. Can you do the below

 

Can you try the below steps. I have  faced this issue once

 

1. run the following query (which may need to be slightly modified depending on the database you are running):
select serviceId from ir_serviceinfo where componentName='InterwovenAdministrationConsole';
Note: ir_serviceinfo table is present in the CommonServices database.
This will give you a long string for the serviceId.

2. Run this command at the commandline:
CommonServicesClient/bin/iwirencryption.bat -d

3. When prompted, copy in the string returned by the query in step 1. This will return another string.

4. Run CommonServicesClient/bin/iwirmapping.bat

5. Compare the string generated in step 3 to the iwirmapping output for the InterwovenAdministrationConsole

6. If they are different, re-register the Administration Console component:
c:\Interwoven\CommonServicesClient\bin\iwirregister -c "InterwovenAdministrationConsole" "Interwoven Administration Console" "servername" "c:\Interwoven\InterwovenAdministrationConsole" "9080" "" "win"

(where servername is replaced with the actual server name and the location of the Interwoven installation is changed to match your environment)

7. Restart JBoss

8. Check to make sure that the mapping file matches the unencrypted string from the database.

9. Retry accessing the admin console.

In the step 6, replace the values comparing with the database entries also.The port number is the Jboss port number(IR PORT).

i am also facing the same issue, i have installed documetum 6.7sp1 da in tomcat and the administration node is not expanding, can you please let me know what should i do to make this work right

I see that you are on a pre-version 8 system. I'm not sure if this is an issue with older versions or not but v8+ at times jboss doesn't load all the war files correctly

Look in the folder ...\ApplicationContainer\standalone\deployments and if there are any files with the extension "failed" rename the extension to ".dodeploy". Magically they will be renamed a few times and hopefully in about 30-60 seconds they will be changed to ".deployed"

Again this may not help on versions less than 8.
