Birt Report Design for XML Data

Hi,
I want to generate the PDF from XML data in my java application. Now iam using Apache FOP to convert XML Data into PDF.
I like to know how the PDF Generation can be replaced using Actuate BIRT.
is it possible to design the report to generate as PDF from XML data?
Please help me !!!

Yes, BIRT will make it much easier to generate PDF files from XML data. Instead of using XSLT, you can now use a graphical design tool to navigate the data and lay out the report. There is an XML wizard that helps you set up where the data comes from. For output, you can easily switch between HTML, PDF, XLS, PPT, DOC, etc, with the same report design.
