BIRT 2.3 RE API & Eclipse Europa

Hi there,
The j2ee project I'm working on is developed using Eclipse Europa, and I've integrated Birt 2.2.2 RE API to a satisfactory level to run predefined reports developed using Birt Designer plugin 2.2.2.
We would obviously rather not upgrade to Eclipse Ganymede as this could push our delivery dates, however, we have certain requirements which would strongly benefit from using Birt 2.3 new features (data cube chart support and multiple select report parameters in cascading groups, data cube derived measures).
Would it be conceivable to use the Birt 2.3 API built into our app with Europa, while producing the report designs designed with Ganymede? Specifically, has anyone tried it?
