i tried to installed birt viewer in apache tomcat and when i view the example it shows...

Yes, when you do the initial install. The example is exactly that. As long as you see where it says, "If you can see this report, it means that the BIRT viewer is installed correctly", you've got it done correctly.

thanks for the reply. if that so why cant i run the report that i edit using birt on localhost. it always says the report design has an error. what probably cause this error to occur? thanks again!

i got to run the report on my localhost finally. its a version problem. thank you anyways!
