Hierarchical grouping

Does Birt support hierarchical grouping?
I do not mean a simple group with an interval or another group underneath it.
I am talking about the ability to automatically create a hierarchy based on a table that contains parent_id and child_id.
Crystal Reports has this functionality and it automatically creates the hierarchical grouping based on the values in the table. It automatically adjusts to the number of required levels.
I can replicate this by creating a set number of groups in Birt but if the data in source changes the report will need to be amended to the new number of levels.
If anyone has managed to create a report in Birt that does automatically create the hierarchical grouping I would like to know how you achieved it.

Hi mennovh,

To my knowledge, BIRT doesn't have this feature as of yet. This could be something that could be suggested as an enhancement at <a class='bbc_url' href='
