Save BIRT Report State (Parameters)

Hi everybody,

I need your help since I have to save the state of a generated report in my database.
I know that the generated .rptdocument already includes all data and parameters settings, right?

So is it a best practice to save the whole .rptdocument in my database or is there another way to do this the best way ?

I need this feature, because I created a dashboard where different widgets (BIRT Reports) will be generated on.

And I want the report only to reload and change his data when the user clicks the reload Icon on the widget bar. So if the user just reloads the dashboard, the widget's state should stay the same and should not ask again for parameters or reload the report without any parameter set?
