LSCS Runtime Deployment Failure | Error Code RC: 5

Our PLC workflows were working fine till a couple of days ago. Suddenly they've started failing. The 'startdeploy.bat' script for testing deployments to LSCSRT are failing with Error Code 5.

Any pointers, RTFM's on where to check for error codes of LSCS are highly appreciated. I've tried searching for this, but didn't find anything wrong - with licenses, LSCSrt is UP, Idol is UP, Database is UP, Space is ample, etc.

    I'd suggest checking both the OD sender and receiver micro log files - perhaps there is more information within them.

    That was from the micro log, or at least what i think is the micro log. Smiley Happy

    After some more digging around, there seems to be an exception in the
    adp.lscs.import log around not being able to connect to http://servernameSmiley Tongueort/lscs/v1/import url using GET.

    Not sure if this is what is causing the error.

    There are no other 'exceptions' anywhere else. At least not ones i have been able to spot.

    What Application server are you on? Check into your App Server logs and see if you find something useful there. Check lscs.log if you find something useful there. Are the deployments failing on all LSCS servers?

    I am using tomcat app server. All the deployments are failing..there are no errors in the lscs.log

    I had a similar problem and looking at the OD logs, teamsite logs, and lscs logs did not help. What really help was looking at the apache tomcat logs on the runtime machine. From there, it shows that there was an error in the database trying to fit a big amount of data into a small container. After doing some altering of tables, the deployment finally went through.

    Check the tomcat logs. The error is happening during the import, which occurs on the lscs app server being published to.

    Did you check the user/group specified in the OD config files (teamsite-areadiff, commit-deploy, etc) ?

    I'm not positive, but I think you're mis-interpreting the message.
    I don't think it says that you specified an IP address where you shouldn't - I think it says that the IP address from which the command is being issued is, somehow, not authorized to perform the operation that it is requesting to perform.

    Essentially, a network (rather than filesystem) permissions issues.

    Beyond that, however, I'm afraid I cannot offer any more suggestions - as this is not something that I have encountered.

    Have you verified your LSCS install ?

    go to

    http://LSCS-SERVER-IP:8080/lscs/admin/debugpanel

    to start (assuming LSCS is on port 8080)

    Click around and see that it is up and there are projects.

    got resolved as in lscs-conf.properties i was providing server name for searchserver.hostname. It should have localhost as value.

    BUT the actual error is not yet resolved which is deployment error code-5

    Here is wat i get when i try to execute the start deploy command

    These logs are not conclusive. Check the lscs.log at LSCS runtime. Also check the application server logs.

    That is a pretty common error,

    Do you have LSCS RT installed ? Not just the authoring environment but the RT module ?

    Also, are *both* licensed ? You can use the same license for both but they need to point to the same file or have it copied to the right place. Then restart and try again.

    We do have LSCS RT installed. Both Authoring & LSCSRt are licensed.
    Authoring to Preview deployment on same machine is working fine.

    & following error is from Open Deploy Reciever Logs on LSCSRT machine.
    The other error is "Commit failed" in open deploy base logs

    The license location field is completed and correct ?


    In my experience when this error happens, the license is not in the correct spot on the RT version

    Thanks Nipper the problem got resolved

    - i refilled the lscs-properties with license path
    - Also, deleted the project which got created on lscs
    - cleared lscs.cache folder

    & it worked finally
