•
When I update I like to download from eclipse.org/birt because I work with other languages and use my other installed eclipse for CDT and some other tools. If your wanting to upgrade from inside of eclipse you'd use the update URL's from the link you have above. Some of those require additional repo's to be added. Once you have everything then you should be able to update from help > check for updates. I just tried this in 4.3.0 and it found some BIRT updates, let me know if this works for you.

Not sure how my update sites came to be missing from 4.2.1. But what I ended updoing was gettting the update sites from a different version then modfifing the end of the links to my version.

Window > Preferences > Install/Update > Available Software Sites

Kepler = http://download.eclipse.org/releases/kepler</a>

The Eclipse Project Updates = http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/4.2</a>

Null = http://download.eclipse.org/releases/kepler/v20120912-1721</a>

<del class='bbc'>I have now upgraded to 4.3.1 and maintained my preferences and configuration.</del>

Update - That really did not work well. At first I though it did as a new report said it was created in 4.3.1 but none of the emitters are present in the updated version, checking for more updates finds none. A direct download seems to be working ok so far, but still exploring.

 •
On a side note, on Linux systems I've had weird problems installing/upgrading BIRT. To get around this I launched Eclipse with sudo and did the install/upgrade and it works much better.
