Hi, we noticed that the Arial font we set in our design changes to Times Roman when we export our report content to pdf.

Is there something we can do to prevent from happening?

We run BDPro on a Mac (10.10.2)

Actuate BIRT Designer Professional

Version: 4.4.0

Build id: v20150206

 •
To confirm, this is happening when report is exported to PDF from the designer that is installed on your Mac versus from an iHub installation?

Do you have the Arial font installed on the Mac?

 •
Hi Jesse, sorry for all the questions today by the way. Need to finish this report today with last moment feedback I got.

Yes, this is generating from the designer. And also yes, the Arial font is installed.

Exporting to word works fine, export from word to pdf works ok as well.

 •
It may be having trouble embedding the font.

You should make sure your machines fonts directory and the font is mapped in the necessary fontsConfig.xml.

You can find the fontsConfig.xml in ".\eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.fonts_4.4.0.v20150206-1039\".

 •
Hi Jesse, thanks, that was it.

 •
You're welcome.

I'm glad to hear that got it resolved.

 • It's because BDPro uses OS font libraries when exporting the data to PDF extension, and there is no Arial by default but Times New Roman. Actually, see no problem with this for the reason TNR is more convenient for such purposes. But yet, if this is mandatory, you might try some tool to edit pdf like this one or whatever you have bought. There's a quiet difference between them, especially speaking of a purpose to change the font
