What should I do if my forum question remains unanswered?

edited February 23, 2018 in General

On occasion, a question in the forum may go unanswered. There are many reasons for this, including:

  • the poster has withdrawn the question because she or he figured it out
  • the question has been moved offline for specific help. It may or may not remain open
  • the question was answered elsewhere, but the post remains
  • the question was posted to an incorrect category and has therefore gone unnoticed

In any of these cases, please be sure to mark your question with "accepted answer" or post additional status information about the question. Our aim is to ensure that every online community member's voice is heard.

If you have a question that remains unanswered for more than 30 days, we will post the following generic response:

__**Can you help answer this question?**

_We've noticed this question is over 30 days old and hasn't received a response. We're turning to you, the community, to help answer it.

This generic response is intended to prompt discussion in this post. The question remains open to your answers, suggestions, and best practices.

If you posted this question and were able to resolve the issue, or still need additional help, please let us know. Your question and its resolution are important to us, and we want to help.___

Remember, please mark your posted questions "accepted answer" when you receive a response to your post with an answer that solves your question.
