Timed and Conditional Actions Fail in Multi-Engine Environment

Issue

• In a multi-engine environment, timed actions and conditional actions may occasionally fail to execute, and the eAlert table may not be updated correctly.

  Messages similar to the following may be written to the Windows application event log:

  Database problem while doing: Opening eWait table to determine next timeout. m\_nRetCode: -1, m\_strError: 'Transaction (Process ID 144) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction.', m\_strStateNativeOrigin: 'State:40001,Native:1205,Origin:\[Microsoft\]\[ODBC SQL Server Driver\]\[SQL Server\]

  Failed to obtain data.

Resolution

• Install hotfix 6.6.4.5.

  Note: The loopback option Remove from ToDo list will not work after this hotfix is applied. To determine if/where this option is being used, run the following SQL query: SELECT \* FROM eAction WHERE eRemoveFromToDoList=1.

• Install Metastorm BPM version 7.
