The example uses a static data source so you can run it as is. The reason for the two examples (HTML5 and non-HTML5) is because for HTML5 script is executed in the browser and does not have access.
For non-HTML5 charts I created a persistent global variable in form of a hash map that sores the colors for each category.
For HTML5 charts I created window variables that do the same (thanks Rob Murphy for the tip).
