data label collisions

I have a line chart and have specified that I want only the last data point labels displayed. I have also specified to avoid collisions. There are only two lines in the chart. I'm testing with values that are close together. When I run with this in the Exstream viewer it works fine. When I run it to produce PDF output, I get the following error
EX003661W (1) An attempt to avoid data label collisions for the chart named (Dollar Growth Chart) failed. As a result, some data labels may still overlap in the output.
and the data labels collide.
What's causing this in PDF output?

Best Answer

  • I found why this was happening. When you set Output property to use PDF Preset = Web Delivery, the text position calculation (under the Advanced tab) gets set to "Use outline font metrics."
Changing this to "Use native PDF font metrics" resolved the problem.
