Adding an image as logo

Hi

I have Treatment type BODY for text, Treatment type Attachment for PDF in my enhancedEmail functionality.

It works fine.

As per the requirement I have to add the client's logo in the email.

How can we add the logo in the email. It should not be attachement but actual image in the body of email.

As a text body will not be able to contain the logo, your body will have to be HTML and include an<IMG> ref for the logo. The logo can be uploaded with the JobSubmit or it can be referenced to an external web server. Let us know if you need assistance with that.

While submitting the logo do we need to encrypt it into base64 format.

How can we reference to external webserver? I mean thi ssrever is maintained by easylink?

Do you have any example for addition of image in the email. IN any programming language.

If you wish to include the image with your submission, and then refer to it in your HTML body, then you would need to base64 encode the contents. You also need to include a reference in the HTML body to indicate where the image should be displayed.

Attached is an attachment that shows the HTML that should be used (note that it is uploaded as "html.txt" - you should remove the .txt when you view it). This file contains the following construct:

<img src="[pull name=logo_image.jpg]">

This tells the system where in the outgoing email the link to the image on our servers should be inserted.

I'm also attaching an XML file that shows how to include the HTML email body and the logo image with the job submission. This should help you implement the appropriate code in your application.

I have checked the above example. But the actual image has not been inserted in the email. It gives the error in finding the image on the server.

The job looks perfect, and appears to have all of the correct setting so it should work.

If you view the source of the email you received, you should be able to see the link to the image there - the hostname is pull.xmr11.com. If you can't hit that link in your browser, there may be a networking/configuration issue.

If you can find it, please let us know what that link is.

I have checked the source and I found the image source as

This link can not be accessed from anywhere(Newtwork inside bank or Network outside bank).

Where as when I access the following link, it works fine. So Is there anyways we can use https instead of http when adding the source of image:

The regular web server (http://pull.xmr11.com) should be working - I've contacted our administrators to look into why that server is not responding.

In the meantime, if you do want to test with https, you can set the<PullFileOptions> element in your XML - it would look something like this:

I have added the security but still not able to access the image. Tis time its diff error.

The email source shows the link as follows:

When I try to acces sthe link from browser, it gives the following error:

The "document has not yet been released" error is due to a slight time differential between hosts within the test system. The system that processed the URL request was slightly behind compared to the system where the job was processed.

The link above works now.

Also, our administrators have resolved the issue that caused the non-secure link to fail, so you should be able to revert back to using a non-https: URL (by removing the PullFileOptions/Security element).

I have made it non-https removing the security element.

But the issue here is, in order to view this image we need to enable the proxy setting in Lotus notes which does not look feasibe looking at the clients based in diff locations.

Is there any solution available where we dont need to ask our client to change anyproxy setting in mailing client

We don't have any other alternatives for this type of thing. You could refer to the logo image from some other site, rather then uploading it with your job, but the recipients would still need to allow for the HTTP access from their mail reader to be able to see the logo.

When we send the image via Pull functionaly we can see the image after 3-4 hours.

As mentioned above I can understand that there is a time diff in different servers. But can this issue be resolved as users are not acceptiing the delay in image for testing.

This has been corrected. You should see your logo as soon as it arrives. I just did a test and mine opened with the logo.

I'm experiencing a similar problem - the images are showing as broken links in the email message.

If I open a link to an image I get:

Unable to Retrieve Document
The document you requested could not be retrieved.

Error Code: DP110
Reason: A system error has occurred

Recent job numbers are: ptmr-246132, ptmr-249017, and ptmr-254406.

Have I formatted the SOAP request correctly or is there a problem with pullfiles at the moment?

Looks like there was a problem with the pull servers in the pt system - I've corrected it and I have been able to retrieve the image mentioned above.

Ooops, that image was from job ptmr-254670.

The three jobs that I submitted this morning are ptmr-254670, ptmr-241099, and ptmr-241103. None of the images for these three emails are displaying at the moment.
