Send email using template

Hi,

Could you please let me know whether we can use template to send emails. We dont want to send template all the time, like we have used for fax, we want the template to be stored in easylink side and we just want to pass the template name & the data to populate.

Yes you can do that. You can upload the template to the CFS(Customer File Store) usinf CFSUpload and then specify DOCCFS in the DocType of the JobSubmit. Make sure you leave sometime in between for the upload to complete to prevent a race condition.

Hi Tom,

Thank you very much for helping me on this. Our objective is to send email in specific format ( template ), where we want to pass only the data. The tempate will be stored in EasyLink side. We want to check whether EasyLink can merge the data & tempate and then send the email to the users. CFS looked like a repository where we can keep static documents & attach them if needed.

Any advise on this will be really helpful.

You can use inserts (i1), (i2), etc., in your html and text bodies and pass your data in for each recipient in a csv file. I have attached a XML file that shows how to pass in the csv and has an insert in the Subject. It also shows how to set up pull files. In your submit you would specify the templates as the bodies using DocCFS. I have also attached a sample csv file before encryption. Make a note that the entire csv file has to be encrypted, not just the data. In your code you would just encrypt the stream of the file.
