HTML Fax - rendering question

What browser is the best one to use to verify the rendering that Easylink will use when generating a Fax from HTML? We have generated HTML using XSLT which we created using Altova StyleVision, and we are getting rendering issues where most of our page contents do not appear.

We would like to know the best way to confirm our HTML will be rendered correctly - so far we are using trial and error, with limited success.

The generated HTML has tags in it such as <div style="height: 9.877in; overflow:hidden; position:relative; width 7.4in"> in case that helps.

Please provide job numbers for the ones you have tested and the URL you are submitting too. If you received the fax results via our Fax2Mail please attach. Please attach one of your HTML documents you are submitting also.

Here are a few examples. I renamed the html file "2fc85119daa44ff9935a30b873fbe4f7_fax- html"with a .TXT suffix. The corresponding PDF is "fax-2011-10-28-19-41-26 from new html.pdf"

I also uploaded a ZIP file with 3 examples - one that results in blank pages, one that results in a job cancel, and one that works. We are trying to use canvas lines, and that does not seem to work and in fact breaks the Fax generation. The way Altova generates them is using a HTML canvas and some Javascript. I could easily understand if Easylink did not support either the canvas or inline JS.

We've made good progress on resolving this by removing the "overflow:hidden;" style and the canvas lines.

We'd still like to understand the best way to test the rendering our HTML in a way that will be as close as possible to how Easylink will generate a Fax. If trial and error via sending Faxes and looking at the Fax2Mail PDF is the only way to do so, we'll keep working down that path.

I have written a .NET CLI test program I could send you that uses a command line interface to submit an HTML file. I'd need to know what email address to send it to, if you need that.

Your HTML is going through IE for translation. So the best way to confirm is to open in IE. When FaxFailed_SentBlankPages.html is opened IE complains about an Activex being used, that is probably part of the problem. It also has items cropped off. I also viewed it in Firefox, no complaint about Activex, expected, but has same issues with cropping. So switching you to Firefox probably will not help.

The Fax_Successful.html opens without issues and looks pretty good. It looks like you are close. We are looking at the HTML to see if we can offer any suggestions. We will let you know if we see anything.
