Is there a way to override the default margins when generating a FAX? It looks to us like we are seeing about a 1 inch top and bottom 0.5 left and maybe 1 inch right margin. We looked at the document on page https://apiforums.easylink.com/emapidocs/24/JobSubmit/FaxOptions.html and did not see anything pertaining to margins.
The margins that wind up on the fax really depend on the input document that is provided.
If (for instance) a Word document is provided, the document itself can contain instructions about what pargins to use (i.e. the Page Setup), and our Word to Tiff translators would honor those margins, to the extent possible.
If you are using PDF, then the margins are already inherent in the PDF document that is to be "printed", so you would need to address the margins when the PDF file is created, if possible.
Finally, if you use HTML, there are system options that can be used to provide some control over the desired margins.
Based on the above, what types of documents are you faxing?
Thanks for the update. We are using HTML. Ideally we would like no inherent margins, and we would control the output from within our HTML.
Is that possible? If not, what level of control can we have? We'd like the smallest margins allowable.
Can you reconfigure our account to support updated margin settings and we will do some more testing?
There is a profile setting that allows for the choice of margins for HTML. If you'd like, we can try setting your account to have margins of (say) 0.1", and you could try that out.
If this is how you would like to proceed, please provide your user ID and we will make the profile change.
Will be glad to provide our test account user ID - where should I send it? I don't really want to post it on the Forum ... is myportalsupport@easylink.com OK to send it to?
Send it to messagingapi@easylink.com.
Thanks.
I sent in the request two days ago and have not heard anything back. Can you check into it for us?
