I sent a JobPause request for the following message:
PT / 1583342
However a few minutes later the message status is "Sent". Please could you let me know what happened?

It is very difficult to actually pause a job with a single recipient. Usually by the time the pause gets processed the job has started delivering. In your case the pause was processed at 12:36:37 EST but the fax started to deliver at 12:36:25 EST.

The timing issue is understandable, but the problem is that the pause request came back with an "OK" response which surely was wrong if the fax was already being delivered?

Like many of our functions, JobPause is a queued service.
So when the system says "OK" to a JobPause request, that means that the request to pause the job has been queued - it does not mean that the job is actually paused.
The same thing is true for services like JobSubmit and JobResend - in each case, the successful completion of the API request simply means that the request has been queued to the system.
