JobList - max count - inbound fax

Hi,

We poll for inbound faxes periodically and pull inbound fax information through JobList web service using time filter. We would like to know if there is any limit on the number of jobs that can be retrieved in a single request for a time period. do you have any recommendation on how to pull job information using JobList? please note we are not pulling the actual documents. there are pushed to ftp address.

All jobs will be retrieved in the specified timeframe. If you are submitting a very large number of jobs you may want to shorten the timeframe. The more jobs being retrived will lenghten the Request processing time. Our side does not have any time outs, however, an ISP you are passing through may have a connection timeout and automatically disconnect you. You may want to check the time out settings in your application too.

In case of inbound faxes we don't have control on how many are received for a specified timeframe. what do we do in this case?

You can specify a NumToRetrieve element to limit the maximum number of inbound faxes to poll for.

If you specify this value, the result will indicate when you didn't receive all of the possible jobs, and then you can send a new request with a StartJob parameter to get the next chunk of jobs.

Depending on your volume of inbound faxes, I would suggest polling for 100 or so jobs at a time.
