Posting voice mail

We are planning to post voice mail using api. Question is - Is it a synchronous response or asynchronous? Is there a sequence diagram indicating exchange of messages between consumer of messages and easylink system?

Basically though, with Sync you get the Results back in the same connection, very easy to align the Results with the Submit. With Async, you need a receiver to get the Result. The Results may not come back in the same order as Submitted.

For ease of use we recommend using Sync.

Since JobSubmitResult does not contain actual result after the processing of the job, how does client know when the job is completed and status of each of messages?

Your Profile can be setup to have various reports sent back to you via email or http/https push. There is also a CDR(Call Detail Record) push. All push's require a receiver to be set up on your side.

Via the API, you have several options. If you are submitting a large number of jobs you may want to start with a JobListRequest, this will show you which jobs have completed and/or Posted. Depending on the amount of information needed you can then do a JobSummarryRequest, in most cases this may be enough info, or for more info, a JobDeliveryStatusRequest. Also available is the JobDetailRequest where you can be selective about the information you want.

Would you know if system will ever call back to client with jobDetailRequest or JobDeliveryStatusRequest upon completion of the job? or I have to use https or other kind of receiver on our side? If that is the case, can you please point me the documentation on how to set up receiver?

JobDetailRequest and JobDeliveryStatusRequest are API requests that are made the same way as the JobSubmitRequest. The Result you get back contains the info on the job/s specified.

There is http/https push to receive reports and there is a CDR(Cal Detail Records) push for fax jobs. There is a very basic receiver sample for CDR at https://apiforums.easylink.com/content/fax-cdr-call-detail-records
