I've the job submit sample, when I try to submit a fax I'm getting an "Error in parsing" exception

I've attached my Request xml and code for the library where error is happening.

Besides finding the source of the error, how do I generate a full soap output for evaluation

One thing I see that seems to be missing is a <FaxOptions> element inside of <JobOptions>.

Even if you don't plan to include any special Fax Options, the <FaxOptions> element informs the system what kind of job you are sending.

So try it with <JobOptions><FaxOptions/></JobOptions> and see how that goes.

The URL you posted above is for the WSDL. If that is where you are submitting your Request to, that will cause an "Error in Parsing" even if your submit is correct. You can find the proper Domain\URL her:

I am creating my faxOptions, but it isn't being created into the request. Below are the code segments where I create the faxoptions and assign it to the message joboption.

You need to create your js_faxoptions first same as you are doing with joboptions.

You are not setting up your CSV file in the Document section. Make sure you base64 encode the entire CSV file, not just the contents.

I'm trying to fax a pdf file. What do I need a csv file for and what should the contents be and how should they be formatted

The CSV file in this example is intended to contain the destinations to which the fax is delivered.

That's why the XML shows this:

If you wish to place your destinations into a CSV, the format of that CSV is discussed here: https://apiforums.easylink.com/emapidocs/25/Common/TableType.html.

If you wish to include your destinations explicitly (and not use a table/CSV), you can use any of the delivery types mentioned here: https://apiforums.easylink.com/emapidocs/25/Common/DeliveryItemListType.html.

The CSV here needs to have data in actual CSV format - more than just the number - and with headers.

The simplest format would be something like this:

TYPE,ADDR
fax,17325551212

You would need to put this data into a buffer, base64 encode it, and then include it in your XML.

As I said earlier, you can achieve the same thing with a structure like this:

I changed my code to this (which by the way is the only type of Delivery object I'm seeing that actually has the correct properties. You'll note I've tried it both ways on setting the type. Doesn't matter get the same results.

And that still gets a parse error. What properties am I supposed to use to be able to set a simple fax? By the way, the documentation you sent me to was severely out of date

Please copy your code to a text file and attach. If you can provide the XML generated that would help also. You should have been able to use "fax" as the DeliveryItemListType.

I sent you the wrong xml. When I tried to upload the correct one, I get a error message that I've exceeded my 1 MB size.

You have two problems. Your Document ref = Doc0. js_Content[0].Item = "Doc1". They should be the same. You don't have a Doc1. The second problem is you ended up with C:\Temp\faxnumber.csv for yourr address. That should be a valid fax number. Fix those two and you should be good to go.

Note, if you are going to use MessageID, I would take it out to millieseconds to ensure uniqueness. Depending on your final application, it may be possible to send two jobs in a second.

I've fixed the errors you mentioned above, still getting Error in Parsing exception. Xml is attached, but the DocData has be truncated to save space

I was thinking it was something in the Request part because I thought you had said you were using an older WSDL. Turns out you need to capitilize "pdf"

You should use the types exacctly as they are in the documentation.

Thanks, that did it. I was able to send using the DeliveryItemGenericType and the csv list.

I do. Its in the setFaxOptions() method. I did move the method call so it was before the JobOptionType Creator, and I've attached an image showing the FaxOption properties. I've also attached the screen shot of the js_jobOptions and the xml request that was generated when the code ran creating the screen shots

Ok, I move the setting of js_JobOptions to null to the very end of the code block. Like this:

js_jobOptions = null;

js_cref = null;

js_bcode = null;

js_Content = null;

Now my jobOption has a FaxOption in it, but I'm still getting the "Error in parsing" exception

I guessed that maybe what you meant by the csv was the phone number it was to fax to. I've attached the result of that SWAG, but still got the Parse Error

DeliveryItemListType is not exposed with the wsdl I am using. What I am using is DeliveryItemGenericType.

CS file and xml output are attached
