EasyLink Integration Clarifications

Hi,

I need to clarify following questions before we start
integrating “Easylink” with our system.

Can we create a FAX message from our application by setting up information such as destination number, page header, User ID, Submission date time, fax notification, etc. and what are the service endpoints for this?
Do we need to create Users, Customers, and Campaigns before sending FAX message? are those Users, clients and campaigns are going to persists in “Easylink” server?
Does “Easylink” has ability to query inbound messages (message responses received for a Fax job sent) and make changes to the message or resend the message if it is not successful.
What is the format of inbound message we receive (for example, .tif or .pdf)?
Can we retrieve the Fax job by its job id? what is the service endpoint for it?

First, do you have a Sales/PreSales person you are orking with. They would be the best source to answer generic questions. They would provide you with credentials and URL's.

1). Using the API you can create a Fax, Email, SMS, or Voice message.

2). You can pass recipients in individual messages, pass a CSV file with multiple recepients ot create a list of recipients that is stored on our side and called.

3) Inbound messages can be PDF or Tiff.

4) You can retrieve the results of a Submit by job number you would get back from the Submit. There are other methods available too.

You should discuss all of the above with your Sales person to get a better picture of our services.

Could you please give me a C# sample to create recipient in individual message?

The sample I found from the search are job submit by "CSV List" and "previous stored list"

I will try to answer your further questions.

Regarding #3: . User receives the Fax message and send a reply message to Fax number given by “EasyLink” (technically it should come into “InBox” folder of your server)

If your account is set up with an inbound number, then your outbound faxes will show that inbound number as their sending address. Any faxes sent to that number will be delivered directly to you using your preferred delivery method (usually email, but there are other delivery options as well).

If you do not have an inbound number, then faxes will go out with a generic number that is not set up to receive faxes, and therefore no inbound faxes will come to that number.

We do not maintain a generic "inbox" for faxes that are not destined for a specific user of our system.

Regarding #4: Our application should be able to query and read and download messages from “EasyLink” provided inbox.

Since we don't really maintain an inbox, this is not really relevant. There are API functions that allow you to retrieve your jobs (specifically JobDocumentTransmit), but since any inbound faxes should be delivered to you directly anyway, this most likely won't be needed.

I will echo a comment that was made earlier in this thread - it sounds like you really need to have a conversation with your sales engineer to discuss your application and get some guidance on how it should be configured. This forum is more oriented towards specific questions about the usage of the API.
