Test fax sent via test2messaging is not recieved, normal ?

Hi,

I'm new to easylink. I need to send fax.

I successfully submit a fax to http://test2messaging.easylink.com/soap/sync yesterday using a JobSubmit request.

The target fax is the one in my office (and it works, I checked).

But the fax was not delivered.

I tried to find some information about the test plateforme in the forum, but I couldn't find anything relevant.

So I'm wondering : is the test plateforme really able to send fax ?

Yes, the test platform can absolutely send faxes.

Often folks have problems getting their first job through because of misunderstandings about the way the API needs to be used.

Please provide the JobId for your submission and we can help understand what happened.

Everything looks OK here, except that the way you are specifying the destination fax number is confusing the system. This job had a destination of 3314266xxxx - i.e. it included the country code of 33. However, the system doesn't realize that the country code is there, so it actually added a country code to the string it dialed, yielding 333314266xxxx (which doesn't work).

So you can make this work by either adding a '+' to the number (+3314266xxxx), or by leaving the 33 off and entering the number as it would be dialed within France.

Also, I notice that you entered a URL address for your report. The system is failing to deliver that way, so you might want to use an address type of INTERNET and an email destination for your report instead.

About the delivery reports, what are my options if I want to recieve them :

the most directly possible
without having to do some polling

The best way to handle the reporting is just to have them emailed to you.

If you want to set that up in your input, you can, via this type of construct:

<Address>you@your.domain.com</Address>

</DeliveryItemGeneric>

</ReportAddress>

You can also just arrange to have your user profile on the system set up to have your reporting preferences, and then you don't even have to include that in your job submit request.
