Fax Cover Sheet Insert Values

I'm trying to pass insert values from the CSV file to the fax cover sheet using C# API code. I reviewed the sample C# code, but it doesn't include cover sheet code. Can you provide a sample C# code to pass CSV file insert values to the fax cover sheet?

Thank you for the CSV file, however, I was asking for a C# code sample. The sample C# fax code provided in the forums includes the basic cover sheet code. I would like to see sample code that calls the insert values in the C# itself, and shows up on the cover sheet. When I try it, I get an object not reference error message. So, my code is missing something. I attached my code. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to do the same as with the Billcode and Cref earlier in the code. Make an encodableStringType.

CoverSheet.UseCoversheet = EMsgAPI_Demo.EMsgAPI_JobSubmit201101.YesNo.yes;

Excellent, that worked :-)

Now my initial purpose for this was to use the dynamic insert values from the CSV file into the ATTN, TO, and FROM values of the cover sheet. This is still not working, and it could be due to my syntax. The job I submitted with the latest code was 1628211537.

I also attached the latest code file, and the CSV file.

You do not need to do this.

                EncodableStringType JS_Attn = new EncodableStringType();
                EncodableStringType JS_To = new EncodableStringType();
                EncodableStringType JS_From = new EncodableStringType();
                EncodableStringType JS_Name = new EncodableStringType();
                JS_Attn.Value = "(i3)";
                CoverSheet.CoversheetAttn = JS_Attn;
                JS_To.Value = "(i4)";
                CoverSheet.CoversheetTo = JS_To;
                JS_From.Value = "(i5)";
                CoverSheet.CoversheetFrom = JS_From;

The csv file is handle automatically, the inserts are added to the cover sheet.

Ok, so I commented out the code above, and I added three extra columns in the CSV files with the header: TO, FROM, ATTN. The values in the TO and FROM fields now do show up on the cover sheet, but the ATTN is left blank. Also, the Request.XML (attached) file doesn't show the values of these three values, even though TO and FROM showed up on the actual fax when delivered. I also attached the CSV file for your review.

I have attached a typical cover sheet. You can have one done by our Customer Care or talk to your PreSales Engineer to assist. In it you can see the fields you should have in your csv file. If you have your own done you would specify the name in the submit. You can see the To, From, and Attn are not used.

If you received tthe faax as a document and can attach it so I can see, that would help. I could not see your Result attach, but I looked it up and all looked good. You are very close. And you are on the right track for personalization by recipient, which is where I was trying to steer you to begin with.

I attached the last fax I received along with the CSV file used.

Can you please share a working example of C# code and CSV file that allow me to use inserts from the CSV file that show up in the fax coversheet? I can't seem to be able to tie this piece together. I also attached latest C# code.

I see that you used "INS1" for the "to" value your attached sample cover sheet. My question then is, how do I write the C# code, along with what I use in the CSV file, to create your example cover sheet. I need both pieces please (C# code and CSV sample).

You just specify to use cover sheet = yes. If you do not give a name of the cover sheet it will use the default one set in your Profile. If you specify a name it will use that one.

The inserts in the csv file will be used automatically in the cover sheet for each recipient specified.

The problem is that the inserts are not working for me as expected. I only got the insert values to work when I used CSV column names of "TO" and "FROM". In my C# code, I only use this:

FaxCoversheetOptionType CoverSheet = new FaxCoversheetOptionType();
CoverSheet.UseCoversheet = YesNo.yes;
JS_FaxOptions.FaxCoversheet = CoverSheet;

Again, this only populates the TO and FROM values from the CSV file, nothing else. I just tested with the SUBJECT in the CSV, and this populated in the ATTN: line in the cover sheet. So, it seems I must use the TO, FROM, and SUBJECT fields in the CSV. Is there a way to use inserts like INS_1, INS_2, etc., and have these values populate the cover sheet values? If so, how, because I can't get that piece to work.

I have attached the cover sheet that is being used for you. Note the field names in the doc, the names that have a $ in froont of them. That is why it only works with To and From in the csv file.

You need to know what the cover sheet is expecting as field names and then supply those in the csv file. The best way to do that is work with our Customer Care and have your own cover sheet\s created so you know exactly what to use for each one, and personalize them with your logo. Your PreSales Engineer can help you connec with them. Then specify the name in the Submit.
