Gamma Code 5000

Yesterday a fax attempt was terminated and we received the Gamma Code of 5000 through the Messaginmg API. I am looking at getting more information about the cause of this failure so we can avoid having this problem in the future. The tech info on the fax is:

Any additional information about the cause for termination of this facsimile would be helpful.

5000 -Delivery agent canceled this item as part of an Operator initiated CANCEL request.

The job had an invalid fax number so it was routed to be cancelled.

I don't recall setting a "fax number" in the JobSubmit web services call. I just took a quick look again through the JobSubmit API documentation and didn't see a field that looks like a "fax number".

What is the specific field name, you are referring to, in the web services JobSubmit Request?

It is called Phone for fax.

          <Fax>
            <Phone>1234567890</Phone>
          </Fax>
        </Destinations>
The XML for Job Number above has a number starting with 791 area code. The area code does not exists.

Thank you for the claraification. You are correct, the phone number for the destination facsimile machine in the referenced job is invalid.

You may want to consider enhancing the documentation to include a note, in the explanation of Gamma Code 5000, that a possible cause for cancellation is an invalid telephone number, just as codes 5102-5104 clearly indicate the cause being a deficiency in the "Phone" field.
