Issue while retrieving job delivery status(XOA-2030 [job not found] : No information available)

Hi,

I am trying to a get job delivery status after sucessful job submit. It seems like i randomly get (XOA-2030 [job not found] : No information available) when i try to get the job delivery statuses. Though the fax was successfully able to send i am getting this error without the delivery detail information.

process:

1. create a list

2. initiate a job by passing list id

3. retrieve the job delivery status by passing the job id (JDSR)

All the above calls are written in individual functions and calling them sequentially in success conditions. I am trying to insert the job delivery status result into our database by processing the response xml. Due to the failure of returning delivery details information i am not able to capture the individual fax destination details innto our database. Could you please let me know whats wrong with the JDSR process (Job Id: 1711632709)

When you do the JobSubmitRequest and get back the Result with the XDN and MRN (job number), all that means is that your Submit was accepted and assigned a job number. At that point the job still has to go through Setup and Derlivering. If you send the JobDeliveryStausRequest (JDSR) before Setup completes you will get that error.

Wait five to eight minutes before submitting the JDSR. This will vary due to the complexity of the job. Depending on the Result, base the next JDSR on your Retry setup. Your PreSales Engineer can give you more info on the Retry.

It is recommended that you include the list in your JobSubmit. By creating the list first and then doing the JobSubmit, the list may not be available in time. If you are doing updates to lists this could be more problematic. Lists have to be replicated after they are created/updated and recived on our side.

Your DB only needs to store the XDN and MRN after the initial JobSubmit Result. Then update accordingly when you get the JDSR Result.

I am currently using coversheet setup and referencing the custom inserts from my list(This has all custom columns & inserts) to coversheet. The list of users and their fax numbers will be dynamically changing every day at our end. we are currently using CSV file to create a list first and then reference each list record into our Coversheet on job submit. Could you please let me know how to reference my custom fields into coversheet without creating a list(what i understand from your reply above)?

This will really help us eliminating any issues that will be problematic in future.

Sorry for the confusion caused due to multiple posts. For now, i have figured out a way to get the JDSR response through one of our cron jobs which will initiate job delivery status soap request after 1hr the fax submit job is initiated.

The list that i am talking about in my above post is the ListCreate functionality that is avaialable in the easylink API(https://apiforums.easylink.com/emapidocs/26/ListCreate/index.html). I am creating a list with all the required fields through the CSV file generated through our application. Once the list is created, on success response i am passing the list name in the job submit call (Take a look at Destinations tag in JobSubmit request attached). This way the coversheet will use the contact list created on easylink site and send the fax to the destinations defined in the list.

Are you suggesting not to create contact list first through soap call and then pass the contact list reference to my job submit?I am initiating my job send request only on ListCreate success call. Do you think even if i get a list created success response the list may still not available/created at easy link to use in my job submit?

If yes, Can you please suggest a recommended way(sample) on how to use my CSV data to directly pass in job submit request call and how to use custom fields (INS_1.....etc) referenced in my Coversheet so that the faxes sent to users will be having dynamic data(CSV Data).

1) JDSR - You do not have to wait an hour to make the request. If that fits your urgency, it is fine. If not, recommend you wait eaght minutes for first. If additional request needed, base it on your Retry schedule.

2) LIST

a) The Response you get back is the same for any Response from a Submit. It means your ListCreateRequest was valid and it will be processed. It does not mean that the processing has started or the processing is complete! So, the list may not be available for the JobSubmit!

b) The List/CSV can have multiple recipients listed and personnalized based on the inserts for each recipient. It works the same for each row.

c) Placing the CSV file in the JobSubmit will elimanate the ListCreate step and clean up you would need to do.

I will show you how to do this in the sample/functional XML and code I am working on, as stated before,

Cool, Please note that below points while working on the sample.

1.) I will be using Coversheet to map the custom fields(Ref,Addr,type,name,product,quantity,Date,ShippingNumber) from the CSV.

2.) I will be sending 100+ faxes each night through this process. Let me know if there will be any performance issue by following this process.

No problem with the coversheet as long as you submit the "empty" document. My sample will have generic names for the CSV entries. Just make them all caps when you put yours in the code and CSV header line.

No performance issue on 100+.
