Has Anyone Developed any Recycle Bin or Trashcan Functionality?
Van_Duong_(tridentadmin_-_(deleted))
I would be interested to hear any ideas anyone might have on adding a Recycle Bin or Trashcan functionality. I'm looking for someone to get me started in the right direction. Thanks,Jeff Radkejeff_radke@tds.com

We are evaluating a trashcan feature that we got from Intrnetmethods.com. You can contact Glen Witerski for more information about it.It collects deleted information, which can be restored either by the Admin, or by the user that deleted the object. It looks good to us, it is definitely the way to go to restore user deleted information.

The recycle bin is a new Livelink volume accessible from the personal workspace that contains all deleted document in year/ month/ day hierarchy of recycle bin folders (new object type). Basic functionality:- Owners of these documents can undelete them or definitely delete them. - An Administrator purges the deleted files that are older than a month. - Deleted files cannot be viewed, or fetched, yet they can be searched in a specific slice.

Does the recycle bin work with all object types or justdocuments ????

Unfortunately only documents and custom document types are supported in the Roche implementation.

The iTrashcan module from IntNetMethods can handle almost all of the object types in Livelink. Projects, documents, folders, compound documents, tasklists, channels, urls'etc.for more info contact GlennW@intrnetmethods.com

One of my developers here at the US Joint Forces Command developed a Recycle Bin for Livelink. You can delete all Livelink Objects. Users will only see items they deleted when going to a common Recycle Bin. There, they can undelete their items or permanently delete them. A new Recycle Bin is automatically created once the number of items in the current bin reaches a certain limit. Then, Admin can purge the contents of the old bins. Only Admin has the ability to create a Recycle Bin.Works very, very well!
