Altering Attributes of Documents Within Compound Documents

Any ideas as to how I can switch the categories of compound documents that I have currently in LL and for this switch of category to be automatically applied to all documents within the compound. I am trying to deal with activation of quality documents from draft to active. The draft category is made up of a subset of the active document attributes. It would be handy to be able to switch the attributes for the compound document and its contents in one go, as the compound document may contain up to 27 documents. Any ideas?????
