Assigning a task to multuple users
Lynne Drummond
Can anyone help me come up with a solution to assign the same task to multiple users? I want to assign the same task to 10 different users. For each task the instructions are the same, the due date is the same and the instructions are the same (The only thing that needs to be changed is the title). I tried assigning these 10 users to a group but the major flaw in this is that when one member of the group completes the task it disappears from the task list of all other members. It is easy enough to assign the task to a small number of users but repeating the same steps 10 times could lead to user error. Has anyone else had this problem??Cheers,Claire

I think that you are thinking of workflow user step tasks. Is that the question, or do you want this functionality for 'Task List' tasks?Tasks can be duplicated programatically, of course, but not OOTB. Trevor W. I have now developed a solution using a workflow which works better than using the task lists. I wanted to stay clear of the workflow as I wanted the ability to alter who the task is assigned to. The workflow I have designed allows for this. So yes, I think the workflow was the way to go and not the task list.Cheers,Claire
